The long loops allow the fabric to trap plenty of air for moderate warmth, while the moisture-wicking pile fabric absorbs sweat and the lightweight, flexible nylon yarn wicks away sweat, ensuring a cool, comfortable feel at all times. Tompkins knitting machine

Characterized by its softness and elasticity, Sleepy Pile was developed in 1847 and is knitted on an American-made Tompkins knitting machine, of which there are only a few left in the world. It takes approximately 12 hours to knit a single bolt, a process that takes six times longer than a regular knitting machine, resulting in a careful and slow process. Knitting from bottom to top, defying gravity, eliminates unnecessary stress on the yarn, resulting in a very relaxed finish. The slow knitting process also allows the fabric to retain plenty of air, resulting in a soft texture. This rare knitting machine is difficult to adjust and requires time-consuming production, requiring skilled craftsmanship to survive, but we will continue to protect it as it is a material we want to preserve for the future.
