Artist introduction
Satoru Kobayashi
Currently working at Lumbini Museum (Iwate Prefecture)
If you look closely, you can see that it is made up of various numbers connected together. While attending a junior high school for the disabled, Kobayashi began to write all of his letters in his diary and essays in a unique arrangement. At first, his teachers struggled to find a way to correct this, but they soon came to see it as an attractive form of artistic expression. This was the turning point, and his expression began to take flight as art that brings joy to many people. His favorite musicians are Billy Joel, Queen, Inoue Yosui, Spitz, and THE BOOM. He also loves taking walks.
Midori Kudo
Currently working at Lumbini Museum (Iwate Prefecture)
At times she appears light-hearted, dreamily, smiling and talking to someone nearby. At other times she is alone, immersed deeply in her own inner world. Kudo's gaze drifts, chasing something that only she can see in her mind. Is it a happy image that fills her heart? Or is it to prevent pain and sadness from being reflected in her mind? Or perhaps... Kudo's work has an endless quality, as if born from meditation. Is she aware that she is currently creating something? When she paints, sews, or does some other incomprehensible "thing," a mysterious atmosphere permeates her work, suddenly raising such questions.
Higo Miyuki
Currently working at Atelier Yahho!! (Kyoto Prefecture)
She is like a big sister to everyone at Atelier Yaho!!, and creates her works freely using colored pencils, watercolors, embroidery thread, and other materials depending on her mood at the time. The creatures and plants that appear in her works range from cute to mysterious, even the artist herself does not understand. Each piece is filled with a colorful world that exudes kindness.
About HERALBONY
The unfamiliar brand name "HERALBONY" is a mysterious phrase that Shota Matsuda, the older brother of the two representatives who has an intellectual disability, wrote in his diary at the age of seven. Therefore, "HERALBONY" conveys the message of "We want to create new value in the world from things that at first glance seem meaningless." Utilizing art data from artists with disabilities, the brand produces high-end apparel (scarves, bags, ties, etc.). It is expanding its sales channels through brick-and-mortar stores across Japan and cross-border e-commerce. The brand also produces sustainable products that upcycle art materials displayed in the All Japan Temporary Fence Art Museum project.
