In recent years, the environment surrounding the apparel and baby and children's clothing industries has become increasingly harsh due to factors such as the declining birthrate and the expansion of foreign fast fashion companies. At Familiar, we have been involved in baby and children's clothing for over 65 years since our founding, and we are also facing some of these changes.

In this environment, Familia decided to celebrate its 65th anniversary in 2015 by adopting the corporate philosophy of "Creating the potential of children" and to communicate more deeply with society.

Familia is a company that was started in 1950 by four women, including Atsuko Sakano, who were passionate about making better things for children, starting out as a small shop measuring just 10.2 square meters.
65 years after the company was founded, the NHK morning drama "Beppin-san" began airing in the second half of 2016, with Atsuko Sakano, one of Familia's founders, as the heroine.
"Beppin," which means "a special item" or "something specially made to order," is the very embodiment of Familia's manufacturing spirit.
