About the ceremony dress

A ceremonial dress, also known as a Christening dress, is a dress worn at Christian christenings and other ceremonies. It usually opens in the front and is long in length.
Currently in Japan, it is worn when leaving the hospital or when attending a shrine visit.
The basic color is white so that it will not get stained by anything.

Day of discharge
The day your baby is discharged from the hospital is the day he or she goes outside for the first time. It's an important anniversary for both the baby and the mother.
Many people take commemorative photos with their families at the hospital on the day they are discharged.
Dressing your baby in a pure white baby dress will create a memorable memory to look back on.

Shrine visit
Omiya-mairi is a shrine visit held around 30 days after birth.
The ceremonial dress worn on the day of discharge can also be worn for the shrine visit.

What to wear under your wedding dress?

Under the ceremonial dress, you will wear underwear and baby clothes.
For the undergarment you wear underneath, choose from "short-sleeved undergarments," "romper-style undergarments," or "coverall-style undergarments" depending on the season.

Adjust your underwear and clothing combinations to suit the season.

Spring, summer, early autumn
Underwear (short-sleeved or romper-style underwear) + baby wear (two-way or dress-all)

Late autumn and winter
As with the basic dressing method, choose the combination of underwear (short-sleeved underwear or coverall-type underwear) + baby wear (two-way all or dress all) + vest or other underwear according to the temperature.

Q. What should mom wear when she leaves the hospital?

Even if you prepare clothes for your baby in advance, you tend to forget about what to wear for yourself.
When you are hospitalized, you will wear maternity wear, but by the time you are discharged, it will be too loose.
If your baby's clothes are white, it might be a good idea for mom to dress up a little and get a white blouse or some other slightly neater clothes.
You will still need to breastfeed on the day you leave the hospital. Dresses can be difficult to wear when breastfeeding, so we recommend wearing clothes that open in the front.
Your body will still not have recovered after giving birth by the time you are discharged from the hospital, so try not to push yourself too hard, such as by avoiding tight clothing around the waist.

The day I was discharged from the hospital was busier than I expected, with postnatal checkups and bathing instructions, and I still had to breastfeed after changing into my discharge clothes, which made it difficult to breastfeed in a dress.
I hadn't really thought about photos, so I chose something comfortable like a hoodie and pants, but when I was discharged, the doctors and nurses from the hospital saw me off, and I realized I should have taken more proper commemorative photos.
