About the collaboration
Art from the archives that Familiar has treasured for many years, as well as motifs such as the Familiar check, have been designed as fashion items for adults with the sophisticated silhouettes and styling that are unique to Keisuke Kanda.
The collection includes items that convey the playful spirit of the collaboration, such as sweatshirts and T-shirts featuring art from the story T-shirts previously sold at Familiar, as well as Sukajan jackets featuring newly drawn art. The unisex items can be styled to look both casual and dressy.
Late at night after the shop closes, mannequins dressed in children's clothes come to life, and young girls, aspiring to become adult women, pretend to put on makeup and have afternoon tea, enjoying a midnight girls' night out in this fantasy.

"Creating possibilities for adults"
I would like to one day create "adult clothing" with Familia, a children's clothing company. This was something I secretly dreamed of as soon as I was connected to them. In Familia's history of over 70 years, there have been very few plans for adult clothing, so I am very happy that Keisuke Kanda will be able to take on this valuable project.
I'm sorry that we created only poorly behaved items like tracksuits and sukajan jackets, even though these are adult clothing. However, I thought that Familia could portray the elegance that lies beyond that.
It would be fantastic if we could create possibilities for adults as well through this collaboration.

Keisuke Kanda
A fashion brand founded by Kanda Keisuke in 2005. It creates haute couture-style clothing with a focus on handcrafted work. In 2010, it launched a collaboration project with minä perhonen. Since 2011, it has been designing stage costumes for artist Shiina Ringo. It has also collaborated with many companies, including Wacoal and Beams.
