The total self-paid amount, including the standard dietary treatment fee ( meal fee ② ) and non-insured expenses such as additional bed charges ( non-insured total ③ ), came to 178,770 yen.

*Medical fee points and other information were researched by AIG General Insurance Co., Ltd. in 2017. *The medical fees listed above may differ from the actual costs incurred at medical institutions due to differences in symptoms and treatment contents among individuals.

The hospitalization treatment expense insurance plan recommended by Familia covers the self-paid amount for insured medical treatment and the standard co-payment amount for dietary treatment, regardless of whether you are covered by the Child Medical Expense Subsidy System or the High-Cost Medical Care System. Additionally, the hospitalization expense insurance covers the difference in bed charges, miscellaneous expenses, family attendant expenses, and transportation costs for admission and discharge from the hospital and for accompanying family members.
In this example, the insurance payout, including the cost of obtaining a medical certificate, will be 402,570 yen .

If you have signed up for a daily compensation plan , and the hospitalization medical insurance benefit (daily rate) is 10,000 yen, you will be paid 100,000 yen for a 10-day hospitalization.
In this example, the insurance payout, including the cost of obtaining a medical certificate, will be 105,500 yen .

The actual out-of-pocket cost paid at the medical institution's counter was 178,230 yen, so it can be seen that this would have been covered by medical insurance that covers actual expenses.
In addition, the difference in insurance payments between the actual cost compensation type and the daily compensation type is approximately 290,000 yen .

Customer testimonials

Because my child was still small and would cry at night, I felt uncomfortable being hospitalized in a shared room and was worried that the surrounding noises would wake my child, so I chose a private room.
Having medical insurance through familiar was a great help as I was able to choose a private room without worrying about money.
The cost of a private room was over 5,000 yen per day, so I was grateful that this cost was covered.

(Experiences of a mother of one child, age 0)

I incurred unexpected expenses when I accompanied my child to the hospital, but I was able to cover these expenses because I received an insurance payout that was more than the amount I paid to the hospital.

(Experiences of a mother of three 2-year-olds)

The compensation was generous, and taxi fares for accompanying family members and fees for accompanying relatives (4,200 yen per day) were also covered, so I was able to stay in the hospital with peace of mind.
It was helpful that the transportation costs included not only taxi fares but also gasoline costs if I used my own car.
