The first clothes a baby puts on after emerging from its mother's womb. Underwear and clothing worn directly against a baby's skin are so important that they are called "next skin." Familia staff, along with the midwives and nurses at the Kurashiki Adult Disease Center, pooled ideas from their own perspectives to develop clothing that is safe and secure for the sensitive skin of newborn babies.
Kurashiki Adult Disease Center
Familiar, which deals in clothing, and Kurashiki Adult Disease Center, which deals in medical care, have collaborated to jointly develop in-hospital wear for newborns.
The cute accent that gives the image of fun child-rearing is an original design that incorporates the Kurashiki Adult Disease Center mark.
About Kurashiki Adult Disease Center
The obstetrics (perinatal center) at Kurashiki Adult Disease Center, located in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, is expected to have 1,300 births (including approximately 120 Caesarean sections) in fiscal year 2024, the highest number of births in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. The center employs many advanced midwives certified by the Japan Midwifery Assessment Board, who provide highly specialized midwifery care that supports pregnant women.
We value each and every birth and support childbirth so that pregnant women can feel at ease, working together with obstetricians, pediatricians, midwives, nurses, and anesthesiologists for painless childbirth and Caesarean sections. For patients with complications, we provide team medical care that includes doctors from other departments such as internal medicine, pharmacists, and registered dietitians, so we not only manage and assist normal childbirth, but also manage pregnancy-related hypertension, gestational diabetes, and pregnancy and childbirth. In these difficult obstetric situations, we aim to be a hospital and perinatal center rooted in the community to prevent the creation of "childbirth refugees."
