Choosing baby clothes for your newborn baby is a very happy moment.
We will introduce you to Familia's "Two-Way All," which is currently popular among those preparing for childbirth, and the types of clothes available for babies.
About babywearing
Dress All
Dress all-over was the mainstream in the past
When the company was founded, dress-style baby clothes were the mainstream type of baby wear for newborns.
Apparently, they provided soft cotton fabrics in the summer and warm fabrics such as wool and flannel in the winter.
This was a revolutionary development considering the time when even newborn babies were dressed in traditional Japanese clothing such as yukata.
Made from fabric that is gentle on baby's skin, the design does not restrict movement and makes diaper changes easy, making it perfect for newborns.
We continue to sell this product today, preserving its quality.
coveralls
The emergence of coveralls
Next came the coverall in the 1970s.
A baby's natural posture is when their hands form the letter W and their legs form an M. This posture is called the WM shape. Coveralls are designed based on this WM body shape and are one-piece babywear that completely envelops the body. They feature a generous gusset in the crotch area to accommodate M-shaped legs.
It's easy for babies to move around in and easy to hold, making it convenient for going out.
Two-Way All
Two-way all-in-one that can be worn in two different ways
Dress-style diapers are easy to change and put on, but they're a bit inconvenient when going out. Coverall-style diapers are easy to move around in and hold, but frequent diaper changes during the newborn period can be a bit of a hassle.
The two-way all, which was introduced in the 1980s, gave shape to that small wish that things were more like this.
As the name suggests, this babywearing item can be worn in two ways: as a dress or as a coverall.
For newborns, use it as a dress to make diaper changes easier. Fasten all the snaps on the back.
The trick is to leave the bottom four snaps on the front open so that your baby's legs can move freely. Once your baby starts moving their legs actively, we recommend having them wear it as a coverall.
Fasten the snaps on the left and right sides and put it on.
Two-way all-in-one
Two-way all-in-ones first appeared in the 1980s, but their functionality is improving every day.
In 2005, the pattern was changed to allow for a gusset in the crotch area when the garment was made into a coverall.
Another key feature is that the snaps in the center have different colors and textures to prevent the left and right snaps from becoming misaligned, making them friendly to parents.
You want to wear your favorite clothes in two different ways for as long as possible, so we make them a little larger so that they measure 60cm when folded into coveralls.
The key is to make it a little larger. If it's too big, it will restrict your baby's movement. Of course, this varies from newborn to 4-5 months old, but it can be worn by newborns.
About the material
Choose materials that suit the season
The tricky part about preparing for birth is that you have to take into account the season and temperature. Underwear can be layered, but babywear, including two-way alls, is made of different thicknesses of material depending on the season.
For babies born in spring and summer, choose babywear made of jersey. Jersey is a fabric knitted with fine threads, and is characterized by its smooth texture and excellent breathability.
For babies born in autumn and winter, we recommend smooth fabric. It has excellent heat retention, a soft texture, and is thick.
During the change of seasons or when the temperature changes drastically, please adjust the type and number of layers of underwear you wear underneath.
Made in Japan for peace of mind and safety
All of our baby clothes are made in Japan, so you can be sure they are safe. Not only are they carefully made from durable fabric that feels good against the skin and can withstand washing, but we also pay particular attention to the stitching to ensure they do not damage your baby's skin.
When you pick up a two-way all-in-one, be sure to check the stitching on the back as well. You'll feel more at ease.
After repeated inspections, the products are finally put on display in stores. Familiar is committed to delivering not only cuteness but also safety and security.
Familiar's two-way all-in-one is packed with thoughtful ideas. Photographs of newborn babies are often taken, so be sure to find a photo that suits your baby.
